Subaru Trezia: which version to buy
There is only one generation of the Subaru Trezia (November 2010–June 2016, Hatchback 5-door, 7 versions). The buying question is not “which generation” but which of the seven powertrains. Two of those seven share the name 1.3 CVT and two share 1.5 CVT — they are not the same car. Pick by horsepower: 95 hp vs 99 hp on 1.3 CVT, and 103 hp AWD vs 109 hp FWD on 1.5 CVT.

Every engine is Front, transverse. Gasoline versions use Distributed injection (multi-point). Diesel injection is not measured. Gasoline runs on 95; diesel on Diesel.
Same badge, different car: the two 1.3 CVT and two 1.5 CVT
1.3 CVT 95 hp vs 1.3 CVT 99 hp. Same 1329 cm³, same 121 Nm at 4000 rpm, same 9.5 compression, same 78 × 69.5 mm bore × stroke, same 1090 kg kerb / 1535 kg gross, same 42 L tank, same 145 mm clearance. The 99 hp unit adds 4 hp (4.2%) at the same 6000 rpm. Specific output is 71.5 hp/L vs 74.5 hp/L. Weight per horsepower improves from 11.47 kg/hp to 11.01 kg/hp. Wheel sizes are not measured on the 95 hp 1.3 CVT; the 99 hp 1.3 CVT lists 185/65 R15 and 185/60 R16. 0–100, top speed, fuel use, CO2 and eco class are not measured on both CVT 1.3s — do not treat them as “no such figures exist,” only as unlisted.
1.5 CVT 103 hp AWD vs 1.5 CVT 109 hp FWD. This is the largest gasoline split. The FWD car has 6 hp and 6 Nm more (109/138 vs 103/132), higher compression (11 vs 10.5), and is 60 kg lighter at the kerb (1110 vs 1170 kg). Specific output: 72.9 hp/L (FWD) vs 68.9 hp/L (AWD). Weight per horsepower: 10.18 kg/hp on FWD 1.5 CVT — the best of all seven — vs 11.36 kg/hp on AWD. AWD is the only all-wheel version in the whole Trezia range. You pay for that with the heaviest gasoline kerb weight and the weakest 1.5 output. Gross weight is 1445 kg (AWD) vs 1385 kg (FWD); payload is 275 kg on both (1445−1170 and 1385−1110). Wheels, 0–100, top speed, mpg and CO2: not measured on either 1.5 CVT.
Manual vs Variable on the same engine
1.3 MT vs 1.3 CVT 99 hp. Same 99 hp, 121 Nm, 1329 cm³, 1090/1535 kg, FWD. The 1.3 MT is the only 1.3 with measured performance: 13.3 s to 100 km/h, 170 km/h top speed, 6.8 / 4.8 / 5.5 L/100 km (city / highway / mixed), 127 g/km CO2, Euro 5. The matching 1.3 CVT (99 hp) has all of those not measured. Gearbox is the real choice: Manual, 6 vs Variable. Wheels match the 99 hp CVT: 185/65 R15 and 185/60 R16.
1.4 MT vs 1.4 CVT. Same 90 hp at 3800 rpm, same 205 Nm from 1800–2800 rpm, same 1364 cm³ turbo Diesel, 2 valves per cylinder, 16.5 compression, 73 × 81.5 mm. The 1.4 MT is 0.9 s quicker to 100 (12.1 vs 13.0 s), same 175 km/h top speed, 0.1 L/100 km lower on the highway (3.9 vs 4.0) and mixed (4.3 vs 4.4), city both 5.0, CO2 113 vs 115 g/km, both Euro 5. Kerb 1154 vs 1157 kg (+3 kg on CVT). Gross 1575 vs 1605 kg — the CVT is allowed 30 kg more at the limit, so payload is 421 kg (MT) vs 448 kg (CVT). Wheels not measured on 1.4 MT; 1.4 CVT lists 185/65 R15 and 185/60 R16.
Diesel vs gasoline: torque and mpg, not peak hp
The Diesel 1.4 versions have the lowest peak power (90 hp) and the highest torque (205 Nm — 84 Nm more than the 1.3’s 121, 67 Nm more than the FWD 1.5’s 138). Torque per tonne (kerb): about 178 Nm/t on 1.4 MT vs 111 Nm/t on the 1.3s and 124 Nm/t on FWD 1.5 CVT. That is why 1.4 MT (12.1 s, 175 km/h) beats 1.3 MT (13.3 s, 170 km/h) despite 9 hp less.
Mixed consumption where measured: 4.3 (1.4 MT) and 4.4 (1.4 CVT) vs 5.5 (1.3 MT) — 1.2 and 1.1 L/100 km less. Highway: 3.9–4.0 vs 4.8. City: 5.0 vs 6.8. CO2: 113–115 vs 127 g/km. Diesel kerb is 64–67 kg above the 1.3 (1154–1157 vs 1090). Weight per hp is the worst in the range: 12.82–12.86 kg/hp, because 90 hp is pulling more mass.
Gasoline 1.5 vs 1.3: the FWD 1.5 CVT has 10 hp and 17 Nm more than 1.3 MT / 99 hp 1.3 CVT, and 20 kg more kerb than the 1.3 (1110 vs 1090). AWD 1.5 CVT is 80 kg heavier than the 1.3s. 1.5 performance and mpg are not measured, so you cannot claim it is quicker than 1.3 MT from this table — only that it has more peak power and, on FWD, the best kg/hp.
Dimensions and weight: what you actually load
Ground clearance is 145 mm on all seven. Tank is 42 L on all seven. Front suspension Independent, spring; rear Semi-independent, torsion; front brakes Ventilated disc; rear Drum — identical across the range, so chassis is not a version-picker.

Which version to choose
Need AWD. Only 1.5 CVT 103 hp. You give up 6 hp, 6 Nm and 60 kg versus the FWD 1.5 CVT, and you accept not measured 0–100, top speed and mpg. There is no AWD diesel and no AWD 1.3.
Want the lightest, cheapest-feeling gasoline hatch. 1.3 MT if you want a Manual, 6 and the only 1.3 with measured economy (5.5 mixed, 127 g/km). If you want Variable, take 1.3 CVT 99 hp over 1.3 CVT 95 hp: same mass and torque, 4 hp more, wheels listed. The 95 hp 1.3 CVT is the weakest gasoline option and has wheels not measured.
Want the strongest gasoline specific package. FWD 1.5 CVT 109 hp: 10.18 kg/hp, 138 Nm, 1110 kg. Performance and mpg not measured. Do not buy it for payload — 275 kg is the joint lowest.
Want measured speed and diesel mpg. 1.4 MT: fastest 0–100 in the data (12.1 s), 175 km/h, 4.3 mixed, 113 g/km. 1.4 CVT if you want Variable: 0.9 s slower, 0.1 L/100 km more mixed, +2 g/km, but 448 kg payload (best) and listed wheels.
Avoid treating unlisted figures as zeros. 0–100, top speed, consumption, CO2 and eco class are not measured on both 1.3 CVT versions and both 1.5 CVT versions. Only 1.3 MT, 1.4 MT and 1.4 CVT have a full performance-and-economy row.
