Gross is 1450 kg where measured, so payload is 1450 − 975 = 475 kg on both 1.2 MT cars and 1450 − 1015 = 435 kg on 1.7 MT (40 kg less payload on the diesel). Without a kerb figure, payload on 1.5 MT is not measured.
Which version to choose
There is no second generation to “buy newer.” Pick by job.
If the point is the fastest Malaga on this sheet: 1.5 MT (100 hp). It is the only version under 12 s to 100 (11.0 s) and the only one above 170 km/h (174). It has the highest specific output (≈ 68.4 hp/L), highest torque (128 Nm) and the highest compression among petrol engines (11). Versus the next 1.5s you pay 0.5 L/100 km combined and 0.6 L/100 km on the highway for 2.0 s and 4 km/h. Versus 1.2 MT 71 hp you gain 29 hp, 20 km/h and 3.7 s; combined use stays 7. Kerb of this 1.5 is not measured, so a weight-per-hp claim for it would be invented.
If you want 1.5 litres without injection: 1.5 MT (90 hp) or 1.5 MT (85 hp). They share 13.0 s, 170 km/h and the catalogue’s best combined and highway figures (6.5 and 4.9). Choosing 90 hp over 85 hp is +5 hp and +4 Nm with zero change in the speed and mpg rows. Avoid 1.2 MT (60 hp) unless you specifically need the carburetor 1.2. It is the weakest petrol: 60 hp, 81 Nm, 17.7 s, 150 km/h, ≈ 50.3 hp/L. It uses the same 9.3 / 5.0 / 7 as the 71 hp 1.2, so it does not buy cheaper running on this sheet.
1.7 MT (55 hp) only if city litres matter more than time. It is 21.9 s to 100 — 10.9 s slower than 1.5 MT 100 hp and 4.2 s slower than 1.2 MT 60 hp.
