Generations compared by the numbers
The catalogue lists four generations. They must be treated separately.
The catalogue lists four generations. They must be treated separately.
1 generation (2010-11-01 to 2016-06-30), Mini 5-doors: 12 versions, all FWD. Ground clearance is 139 mm on 1.0 MT (68 hp) and 140 mm or 130 mm on the rest. Eco class is Euro 5. The 50 l tank is the same on every ICE car here.
1 generation, restyling (2015-06-01 to 2021-01-31), Mini 5-doors: 12 versions, FWD, Euro 6, 140 mm clearance on every row that has a figure. Two pairs share names and must be split by kerb weight: 1.2 AT 110 hp at 1080 kg versus 1.2 AT 110 hp at 1090 kg; 1.0 MT 68 hp at 975 kg versus 1.0 MT 68 hp at 960 kg; 1.2 MT 82 hp at 975 kg versus 1.2 MT 82 hp at 960 kg.
2 generation (2019-01-01 to 2024-01-31), Mini 5-doors: 10 versions, FWD, Euro 6 on ICE, 160 mm clearance where measured (the 100 hp 1.2 Puretech MT has clearance not measured). Three cars share the name 1.2 Puretech AT and must be split by power: 110 hp, 130 hp, 100 hp. Two cars share 1.2 Puretech MT: 75 hp (no turbo) and 100 hp (Turbo).
2 generation, restyling (from 2023-07-01, stop not measured), Mini 5-doors: 7 versions, FWD. Clearance is 160 mm on all seven. Two 1.2 i AT Mild Hybrid rows sit at 100 hp versus 130 hp versus 145 hp — three names that look similar; the 100 hp car is one name, the 130 hp and 145 hp cars are the same name at two outputs.
What changed between generations, using only these figures: clearance rose from 130–140 mm (first generation / restyling) to 160 mm (second generation / restyling). Eco class moved from Euro 5 to Euro 6 after the 2015 restyling. Battery cars appear only from the second generation. The 165 hp petrol 1.6 MT of the first-generation restyling has no successor of that displacement in the second generation; the later petrol peak is 145 hp on 1.2 i AT Mild Hybrid.
Engines and specs
Every row uses the catalogue name exactly. Layout labels are taken from the English fields (Gasoline, Diesel, Electro, Inline, Turbo, No, Manual, Automatic, Robotic, FWD). Rear-suspension English in the source is the string Semi-independent, springorts hélicoïdaux, sem; rear-brake English is Disc. Those strings are not rewritten.

Front suspension is Independent, spring on every version. Rear is Semi-independent, springorts hélicoïdaux, sem on every version.
Which version to choose
Decide first by fuel type, then by generation, then by the duplicate names.
If you want the lowest mixed litres among published ICE figures: first-generation 1.4 EGS at 3.4 l/100 km, first-generation restyling 1.6 MT 100 hp Diesel at 3.4, or second-generation 1.5 BlueHDi MT at 3.2. The last of those three is 0.2 l/100 km lower than the older 100 hp diesel, with 2 extra hp and 4 fewer Nm (250 vs 254). Highway on 1.5 BlueHDi MT is 2.9 versus 3.2 on the restyling 100 hp diesel.
If you want the lightest petrol city car: first-generation restyling 1.0 MT or 1.2 MT 82 hp at 960 kg (the duplicate rows; the other pair is 975 kg). Second-generation lightest measured petrol is 1.2 Puretech MT 75 hp at 1055 kg — 95 kg heavier than that 960 kg pair, with +7 hp versus the 68 hp 1.0 MT and −7 hp versus the 82 hp 1.2 MT, but +20 mm clearance (160 vs 140).
If you want the strongest petrol: first-generation restyling 1.6 MT 165 hp (7.4 s, 218 km/h, 5.6 mixed). Nothing later matches 165 hp, 7.4 s, or 218 km/h. The closest later petrol is 1.2 i AT Mild Hybrid 145 hp (8.1 s, 210 km/h, 4.6 mixed): −20 hp, +0.7 s, −8 km/h, −1.0 mixed litres, +78 kg kerb (1228 vs 1150). The unfacelifted second-generation stand-in is 1.2 Puretech AT 130 hp (8.7 s, 208 km/h, 4.4 mixed).
If you want an automatic petrol without going back to the 4-speed: skip first-generation 1.6 AT (6.7 mixed, 154 g/km). The second-generation 1.2 Puretech AT 130 hp (8-speed) is the quickest unfacelifted automatic petrol. The restyling 1.2 i AT Mild Hybrid 145 hp matches the 130 hp hybrid’s 8.1 s and undercuts it on mixed (4.6 vs 5.0) and CO2 (102 vs 113) at the same 1228 kg; vmax is 4 km/h lower (210 vs 214). The 100 hp 1.2 i AT Mild Hybrid is the hybrid to pick if 9.8 s and 4.5 mixed are enough: it is 53 kg lighter than the 130/145 pair.
If you want a manual turbo 1.2: unfacelifted 1.2 Puretech MT 100 hp is 9.9 s / 188 km/h / 4.2 mixed / 1165 kg. Restyling 1.2 Puretech MT 100 hp is 10.1 s / 194 km/h / 5.0 mixed / 1055 kg — 110 kg lighter, 6 km/h faster on top, 0.2 s slower, mixed +0.8 and CO2 +16. City and highway on the restyling 100 hp MT are not measured.
If you want the 75 hp petrol: unfacelifted and restyled 1.2 Puretech MT 75 hp are the same on the stopwatch (13.2 s, 170, 4.1 mixed, 1055 kg). Versus 1.0 Puretech MT (also 75 hp, 999 cc, from 2022-05-01), the 1.0 has 13 fewer Nm (105 vs 118), and 0-100, vmax, consumption and kerb are not measured — so you cannot score the 1.0 on pace or thirst from this file.
If you want Electro: names are not interchangeable. AT 339 km and AT 400 km are both 156 hp, 260 Nm, 8.3 s, 150 km/h, 1530/1910 kg; the difference in the name is not expanded by any other measured column here (consumption not measured on both). AT at 136 hp matches those 8.3 s / 150 km/h / 1530 kg numbers. Restyling e-208 51 kWh is 156 hp and 8.2 s with kerb not measured; e-208 46.3 kWh is 136 hp and 9.0 s with kerb not measured. CO2 is 0 on all five Electro names. Eco class is not measured on all five.
If you are looking at a Robotic gearbox: first-generation 1.2 EGS and restyling 1.2 EGS (both 82 hp) are slower than the matching 1.2 MT by 2.6 s and 2.3 s respectively. First-generation 1.4 EGS is the slowest 208 in the file (16.2 s) and also the joint-lowest mixed ICE figure (3.4). 1.6 EGS 92 hp Diesel is 11.8 s versus 10.9 s for 1.6 MT 92 hp Diesel — 0.9 s for the same 230 Nm.
Reliability and problems. This dataset has no failure rates, recalls, or service intervals. What can be said without leaving the numbers: Euro 5 ends with 1 generation; Euro 6 starts with 1 generation, restyling. Compression is 16 or 16.5 on the diesels that list it, 10.5–11 on petrol that list it; 1.0 Puretech MT compression is not measured. Fuel is 95 on petrol, Diesel on diesel, Electro on battery cars.
Short map. Everyday petrol, latest body, lowest published mixed among current automatics: 1.2 i AT Mild Hybrid 100 hp. Everyday petrol, latest body, most hp: 1.2 i AT Mild Hybrid 145 hp. Everyday petrol, lightest current measured kerb: 1.2 Puretech MT 75 hp (or the 100 hp restyling MT at the same 1055 kg). Diesel, current generation: 1.5 BlueHDi MT. Diesel, lowest mixed in the 2015 restyling: 1.6 MT 100 hp. Hot petrol, only in the 2015 restyling: 1.6 MT 165 hp. Battery, unfacelifted: pick AT 339 km or AT 400 km if you want 156 hp, or AT if you want 136 hp — 0-100 does not separate them. Battery, restyling: e-208 51 kWh over e-208 46.3 kWh if 0.8 s on 0-100 matters; mass of both is not measured.
