Mercury Tracer: which version to buy and why (1991–1999)

Engine: what the extra 129 cc buys
1.9 AT and 1.9 MT (both brake types) share 1859 cc, 88 hp, 146 Nm. 2.0 AT and 2.0 MT share 1988 cc, 111 hp, 170 Nm.
Arithmetic on those catalogue figures:

Every MT is Manual, 5 gears. Every AT is Automatic, 4 gears. Engine output does not change with the gearbox: 1.9 AT and 1.9 MT are both 88 hp / 146 Nm; 2.0 AT and 2.0 MT are both 111 hp / 170 Nm.
