Brilliance V3: which version to buy

All six use multi-point distributed injection and 4 valves per cylinder. Displacement never changes: 1498 cm³. Specific output is 74.8 hp/L on the 112 hp pair (112 ÷ 1.498), 100.1 hp/L on the 150 hp turbo pair (150 ÷ 1.498), and 71.4 hp/L on the restyled 107 hp pair (107 ÷ 1.498). The restyle is the least powerful litre of the three engine tunes. Peak torque stays 145 Nm at 4000 rpm on every naturally aspirated car; the turbo adds 75 Nm (220 − 145) and moves the peak 500 rpm later (4500 vs 4000). Compression falls from 10.5 (112 hp) to 10 (107 hp) to 9 (150 hp turbo).

A “Brilliance V3 engine” search that assumes one motor is wrong: three outputs sit on the same 1498 cm³ block family. Claims of a Mitsubishi motor are not measured in this dataset and are not used here.

Performance, mpg, and what is not measured

Only the restyled 1.5 MT 107 hp and 1.5 AT 107 hp have a timed sprint and a stated top speed: 11.4 s to 100 km/h and 170 km/h. Both restyle gearboxes share those two figures, so the Automatic does not cost a catalogue second versus the Manual on paper. Exterior length, width, height, wheelbase, and tyre sizes are not measured on any version. What is measured:

Ground clearance: 170 mm on restyled 1.5 MT 107 hp and 1.5 AT 107 hp; not measured on 2015–2017 cars. A 2016 compact SUV in this line has no catalogue clearance figure.

Kerb weight:

The automatic costs 50 kg before restyling (1375 − 1325) and 25 kg after (1425 − 1400). Which Brilliance V3 version to choose

If the goal is the highest output in this catalogue: 2015–2017 1.5 MT 150 hp or 1.5 AT 150 hp. These are the only Turbo cars. They add 38 hp and 75 Nm versus the 112 hp naturally aspirated pair of the same years, and 43 hp versus the restyled 107 hp pair. Specific output 100.1 hp/L is the peak of the model. Compression 9 is the lowest. The 1.5 MT 150 hp keeps kerb at 1325 kg (8.83 kg/hp). The 1.5 AT 150 hp adds 50 kg for the Automatic (9.17 kg/hp) and still undercuts every naturally aspirated car on kg per horsepower. These are the only versions with 11.4 s, 170 km/h, 170 mm, Euro 5, and measured gross weight. They are also the weakest (107 hp, 71.4 hp/L) and heaviest naturally aspirated cars. Choose 1.5 MT 107 hp to save 25 kg versus 1.5 AT 107 hp with the same 11.4 s and 170 km/h in the data. Choose 1.5 AT 107 hp if the Automatic is the requirement; the catalogue does not charge extra seconds for it.
